Lil’ Version of Daddy

As baby Aidan continues to grow, and loose more hair, we find he is more and more a little version of Daddy. I found this cute onesie that says exactly that! He is getting stronger and bigger each day. He loves to sit upright and is staring to roll over on his right side – which he favors at this point. He lights up when Hatcher talks to him. They are really sweet together. Aidan is nearing Hatcher in height and enjoys standing as much as his leg muscles can support him. We are trying to get a photo of them side by side. Aidan is also starting to talk to us a bit more. I got some more video of his latest "coo-fest."

Hatcher's Big Boy Room...Time sure does fly!

So I think we are nearly complete in decorating Hatcher's big boy room. He absolutely LOVES it. If only he would sleep through the night in there. He has gathered a collection of books about planes and small airplane toys. He refers to the planes as "means" and "coptas" for helicopters. Talking up the planes is our saving grace when it is time to get ready for bed or night-night. Since many of you have asked to see what we did, I thought I would make an entry in the blog about it. I know Hatcher would want me to!

Happy Halloween...no fright this night!

Our little monkey, Hatcher, and his sidekick the banana, baby Aidan, went out for a night of mostly treats this Halloween. We took the kids out trick or treating with our neighbors Mandy, Brian and little Madison, dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, to a great little neighborhood nearby (thank you Hamrick family) filled with other little candy collectors. The kids (Hatcher, Madison, Molly, and Riley) had a blast running to each house and gathering all the free treats. At each house, after getting candy, Hatcher would stop and reach into his bag to see what he got and then proceed to want to eat it...right then. And…if he didn’t like it, he would spit it right out and run off to the next house. I am so glad we took him out. We all had so much fun and he just loves telling people how he was a monkey for "pumpkin day." It will be hard to put away all the pumpkins and Halloween decor, as it has become our daily ritual to visit the pumpkins on the porch. But, on to the next holiday! We hope you all had a spookerific Halloween.

Fall Festival

This weekend was all about being lazy. No…we didn’t get to sleep in, but we just kicked back and enjoyed the great fall weather. While doing household chores (yuck!) on Saturday, we had some fun family time just hanging out on the bed after breakfast and got this great video of Hatcher and Aidan. Hatcher is getting better at saying Aidan’s name. You can already see the love they have for each other…too sweet.




Sunday afternoon our neighborhood held a fall festival with all the tricks and treats…pumpkin carving/painting contests, music, games, a petting zoo and more. It was all geared for the little ones. Hatcher loved the petting zoo and was thrilled with the giant bunny rabbit. It was so large it had a gut under its chin! It kept Hatcher entertained for a while. The next big hit for Hatcher was the lake. It has been a while since we have been down right at the water. He just wanted to get into the water. That kept us busy! He also enjoyed the games with balls…such as the basketball toss. Looking forward to Halloween…

Picture day at school

Last week Hatcher's school had fall picture day. He looked so adorable and all grown up that we had to jump on our own picture opportunity. Hatcher is such a ham…now, any time I have the camera and ask him to sit in his blue chair, he wants to hold the baby. Aidan is 3 months old now and holding his head up like a champ. He is working on sitting up next. He lights up when Hatcher talks to him. It is endearing to watch. Although not yet fond of tummy time, he has been spending more time on his activity mat.

The Giant Pumpkin Patch

We took a trip to the mountains this weekend with the Rileys (Brian, Mandy and Madison) and visited Burt's Pumpkin Farm. I have never seen a pumpkin patch so big and with SO many people. Hatcher had a blast running around with Madison and checking out all the large pumpkins. He was most enamored with the tractors pulling the hayride...which we didn't partake in as the line was ridiculously long. After our visit, we had a nice lunch at the Amicolola Falls State Park.

Boys will be boys ~

I can't believe that Aidan is 12 weeks old now! Man, time sure does fly whether you are having fun or not. Don't get me wrong...the boys have fun everyday be it bathtime, dinnertime or in Hatcher's case...bedtime. He is still struggling to sleep through the night in his big boy bed. Although he does LOVE his airplane themed room, he manages to get up through the night and walk down the hall and come into our room multiple times each night. I actually think he may be sleepwalking; but, who am I kidding...at 3 in the morning so am I! Hatcher is bonding with Aidan and really enjoys holding, kissing and hugging his little brother whom he lovingly calls "baby." Hatcher, as you will see below, loves emulating Daddy and really enjoys assisting Daddy get ready each and every day.








And for those of you who have yet to meet baby Aidan, I finally have some good video of him coo'ing and smiling. He is growing so fast.

Wedding Bells for Roxie and the Ring Bearer that could…

It is official. Roxie and Jim are hitched and will now be known as the Adams Family. Hatcher was Roxie’s ring bearer and he looked so grown up in his navy blue blazer, khakis, and “special shoes.” He is so into his shoes that we had to explain to him that these were his special shoes to be worn with his “special” jacket so he could carry the “special” pillow for Aunt Roxie. He did so well. He didn’t make it down the aisle at the rehearsal dinner but he did when it mattered most. And let us not forget about Aidan. Although he had no part in the wedding, he successfully crashed the bridesmaid’s luncheon and whined up a storm at the end for all the ladies’ attention. The boys did really well on the long drive there and back. (Thanks P’Bo for letting us borrow your ride!) Instead of loading a ton of pictures, I created another montage video for everyone to enjoy.
