Happy 2nd Birthday Hatcher!

Today is Hatcher's second birthday. First thing this morning, I sang Happy Birthday to Hatcher...and yes - it was still dark outside. I let him have the breakfast of his choice...eggs and sausage!

Since Derek is out of town and wanted the family to celebrate his birthday together, I took a cupcake-cake to Hatcher's school so the class could help him celebrate his big day. It was nice weather and the cupcakes had a rich blue-green icing (that apparently stains)...so we took the party outside! Easier to keep things clean. Or so we thought. Look at Hatcher's face and fingers in the photos below. Hatcher devoured two of the cupcakes and enjoyed everyone singing to him. It was funny - he sang right along. When you wish him Happy Birthday, he quickly replies wishing you a "Happy Birthday Mommy." It is too sweet.

All in all I think he had a nice day. AND...as an added bonus - Aidan got his first tooth today. No wonder he has been humming in this almost moaning fashion for the past two days. And here I thought he "found" his singing voice! LOL.

Too cold to play outside...Monkey Joe's it is

This past Sunday we went to Monkey Joe's with our neighbors Mandy, Brian and Madison. The kids had a ton of fun and the parents were worn out. Derek and I had as much fun as Hatcher going down all the giant air-filled slides. Too bad we couldn't all catch a nap when we got home. Some pictures from the day.

Aidan is 6 months old

It is hard to believe our sweet little baby is 6 months old. He is sitting on his own and loves to play with Hatcher all the time. Even though he is almost always smiling, unlike Hatcher, I can't capture them as often on camera. Here are a few good shots of Aidan.

2 inches of Snow - round 2

We got another blast of snow this past weekend, almost 2 inches. This time, Derek was home to help Hatcher make a snowman. Aidan didn't much care for the cold, but wanted to be outside with everyone else. Hard to believe Hatcher is almost 2 and Aidan is almost 6 months old. They sure do grow fast. We try to enjoy every minute!

It didn't last, but was fun to play in...

The snow didn't last as you can see in these pictures. We actually had more snow on the ground when I went to bed last night. But when the snow turned to rain late last night, early this morning, it started to disappear. Hatcher wanted to play in the snow this morning...which was hard since Daddy is out of town and Aidan wasn't interested in being left inside to play in his exersaucer. So, we all went outside for like 5, maybe 10 minutes - which turned out to be enough. Hatcher fell down so much he was all wet and we had to change his clothes before going to school. They are predicting more snow this weekend...lets hope!

Let it Snow!

Wow - it is still snowing and as I type the road we live off of is almost covered entirely in the good old white stuff! Hatcher saw it coming down just before dusk and we went back out and played in it after dinner. He was really tired and already in bed...so I can't wait to see him play in it tomorrow morning! Aidan was already snoozing in the swing - so we will see him with it tomorrow as well. I am getting these pictures up so quickly because Derek is in New York and is missing Hatcher and Aidan's first snow. I will load more tomorrow morning.

Oui Oui Paris!

Okay - so this is a funny story. I picked Hatcher up from school earlier this week and when we came inside the house, I told him he had a present to open from his Aunt Cathy, Uncle Chad and cousins Aspen, Morgan and Zach. He had trouble with the bubble package at first, but wouldn't let me help. When he finally ripped the package, out fell these two berets. It was hilarious! For those who don't know, the Colorado Kemmerlin Family spent Christmas in Paris. Hatcher got right away that they were hats and insisted that he and Aidan put them on immediately. And so the photos are from the moments there after...thank heavens the camera was handy...this was priceless! Thanks you all - these are adorable and Hatcher loves wearing all kinds of hats. We hope you had a wonderful holiday in Paris.

Howdy Cowboys

The boys both wore their matching Cowboy pjs last night as sent by my sister Lisa for Christmas. Hatcher loves his "boots" pjs and kept referring to himself and Aidan as cowboys. In fact, he wanted to wear them to school today and he almost won that battle. It doesn't help matters that we have been watching loads of Toy Story 2 and he is a fan of the character "Woody." Too cute - thanks Aunt Lisa!
