Well Visits for the boys
The boys had their well visits today. Hatcher is an excellent patient for the most part. He will sit still and do what he is asked. Hatcher weighed in at 35 lbs and is now 3 ft tall. He is on his consistent track of 25% in height and 75% in weight! Aidan is right behind Hatcher. It is amazing to me at this age how close they are in size. Aidan weighed in at 26 lbs and was 31 1/2" tall- 50% for both height and weight. Aidan got 4 shots today...and it killed me as I have been vigorously trying to space out these vaccinations as much as possible. But, I was short on time seeing as the county's restrictions on the school required some of these I had been pushing out - or Aidan couldn't come back as of this Friday. The only new one vaccine he got today, that he hasn't already had previous dosing for, was the MMR. I do believe our kids should be vaccinated...I just wish I they were more evenly spaced out. At any rate, he seems to be doing well - his normal self. They were sweet tonight and just wanted to play and sit and read together. I think Hatcher feels bad for Aidan because he saw him get his shots. I do love these two with more space than my heart can hold. Derek and I talk often about how much joy they bring us - definitely the greatest gifts Derek and I can share.
Madison turns 3...Party at Tumble Tots
What fun! Another party..."will we have birthday cake Mommy?" Ah but of course Hatcher. The boys had a blast jumping on the ring of air encircling a ball pit, riding on a mini car-coaster, climbing up the slides and playing in the kiddie kitchen. Perfect time to wear them out before a nap! The party was fun for all the kids. They had craft time, pizza time, story time, play time and of course time for cake! Here are a few of the pictures.

Hatcher's Valentine's Day Party at school
The kids' school hosts a party for just about every hallmark occasion - which makes it fun for the kids. On Valentine's day, each child makes their own valentines bag as a craft project to collect all the "love notes" and candy from their classmates. It is really cute. Although I had planned to attend the party, I got to the school later than planned and the kids had already eaten the cupcakes and treats and were exchanging their valentines. They all sat in the circle and each took turns delivering their gifts. Hatcher picked out Cars-themed valentines and I made him sign all 16 notes. He did so good, although after four he said, "Mom, I am getting tired of this. Are we done yet! " Hardly - although I ended up completing them near midnight the evening before the party.
As for school - Hatcher has homework three nights a week where he has to practice writing letters from the alphabet and circling the letter and number of the day from a jumbled mix of letters and numbers. It is amazing how much he knows. Whenever he sees the letter H, he yells out, "there is my name guys!" He also recognizes C (for Mommy-Chenin), D (for Daddy-Derek and Dakota), A (for Aidan), B (for Barkley) and K (for Kemmerlin). I am always in awe of what he knows.
It is also amazing how he uses grown-up speak in his sentences. "Mommy, you are really frustrating me!" or "You have to talk quietly to me if you want a special treat." or my favorite "Mommy, you just don't understand. I need that candy...okay?" HA
The boys are doing more and more together. Aidan is always trying to do everything Hatcher is and vice verse. It is really sweet. When Aidan is in a loving mood, he will go and sit with Hatcher in the chair to watch Little Einsteins. Aidan is talking more and more, some of his favorites, Mommy, Daddy, shoes, Dakota, juice, no. Ha - he is too cute!

Happy Valentines Day!
We hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines Day. Mine started off rough...I woke up on the wrong side of the bed with the feeling like I was ONCE AGAIN coming down with a cold. And...the kids got up earlier than usual...but okay no big deal. Until Aidan decided to hit me over the head with the phone... and hard I may add. While I was tending to the ache, he grabbed my glasses, which I had removed, and broke one of the arms completely off. Okay, I can do this...But wait, then while trying to cook breakfast for everyone, I burnt the bacon. So on and so forth - you get the idea. But things did start to run around after a failed attempt to nap while the kids napped - seriously - who was I kidding. We all got showered and headed out to Costco...woohoo! HA - LOL! We enjoyed a nice dinner at a Mexican restaurant where Hatcher proclaimed to all in earshot - "hey everybody...Happy Valentines Day!" We jumped in the car and headed to a hockey game - the Gwinnett Gladiators. It was pink ice night - celebrating Valentines day and advocating Breast Cancer awareness. Not sure of the final score as we left near the end. But, both of the boys had a great time. We met up with Uncle Jared, Aunt Christina, Ms Debby...and our neighbors too - Mandy, Brian and Madison. Loads of fun. Now I too am off to bed. Happy Valentines Day everyone! Oh - and these pictures were taken earlier in the week as it was cold and rainy here today.

The Estes Annual Superbowl Party
As usual, Neil and Ramona outdid themselves again hosting everyone for the Superbowl game. And although Derek had no voice - with the cold he had recently acquired, we just couldn't miss it. Ramona had gotten all the kiddos little footballs to entertain themselves while the adults ate, drank and caught up...oh yea, and watched the game. Neil even got some 3-D glasses for the halftime commercials...and it was too cute when Hatcher wanted to wear a pair too! I did manage to get a picture of all the kids on the fireplace. Thanks Neil and Ramona - we had a great time.

Hatcher's Madagascar Birthday Party
We had loads of fun...as we often do with family and friends. We are really so blessed to have so many good and close friends who are a part of our lives. It makes every one of these gatherings so much fun for every single person. I took nearly 300 photos the day of the party (so of course I am in NONE of them) and have too many great ones to share...so I am working on a montage. In the meantime here are some of my favorites. Do come back and check for the video, as I think it will be as fun as the party...okay, not quite. Thank you to all who came, and for your wonderful and generous gifts. Thanks to those of you who sent cards and gifts...Hatcher had a wonderful weekend of fun!
Happy Birthday Hatcher - part 2 (surprises from Mommy and Daddy)
Happy Birthday Hatcher! We are so proud of you and love you so much!
On the morning of Hatcher's 3rd birthday, I had coordinated delivery of a giant jumper (moonwalk/ bounce-house) decorated with the Madagascar theme as requested by Hatcher. Action Packed Parties delivered the jumper on Friday and we had it all weekend. It arrived around 8:30 that morning, and even though it was hovering around 20 degrees outside, Hatcher just couldn't wait to get inside that thing and jump to his heart's content...you could just see it on his face. As the owner was inflating our jumper, Hatcher yelled out, "this is the best birthday present ever!" As a parent, it was thrilling to see Hatcher so overcome with pure joy. So, against all good parenting, we decided to let the boys have a short stint jumping in their jammies in the cold air before getting ready for our day. They had a blast.
Derek decided to take Friday off to play around with the boys in celebration of Hatcher's 3rd birthday, so later that afternoon, we let Hatcher open some cards and gifts that had come in the mail. Figured it would be too much to open it all at his party. He was so sweet and read each and every card out loud to Derek and me. Of course they all said the same thing, "Happy Birthday Hatcher!" Sometimes he would follow with, "that is so nice" or "so cute". Too funny. Aunt Lisa, Uncle Dave and cousin Ashton sent Hatcher some GeoTrax pieces for his birthday - which were just a hit. So, Derek went ahead and put some of it together. Hatcher loved it so much that he took some of his gift cards and cash and went with Derek to Target and got a few more pieces. That night we enjoyed a lovely birthday dinner out with Marma and P'bo. Thank you so much.
