Happy Fathers Day!

We hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day! The boys and I took Derek to dinner Saturday night for Japanese food - he had sushi and we ate the hibachi style family dinner. It was nice. As for Father's Day itself - coming off the heels of our vacation in Dallas, we decided to just hang out. I took some pictures of the boys in their "My Dad is a Superhero!" shirts and we made a card for Derek. Ha - It has yet to arrive even as I am typing this.





Sunday afternoon we went to Marma and P'Bo's house. They added a new screened porch which is so wonderful. We all swam in the pool and enjoyed a huge dinner. Aunt Christina and Uncle Jared helped prepare all the meal since P'Bo's brother Uncle Fred was also in town. It was a lovely day.

Neil and Ramona's Baby Shower

A party for all - adults and kids alike. Everyone came to celebrate the arrival of Neil and Ramona's baby girl - who we are affectionately calling Baby Estes. Although I think Neil is calling her Anna and Ramona is calling her Sophie or Sophia. Only time will tell what her name will be - one thing is for sure, she will be loved. Summer Starts - Bye Bye Classmates

There are several kids at school whose parents are teachers. Being off for the summer, they pull their kids from class until the fall, when school begins again. I had sent cupcakes for the year end parties and nearly forgot to go up and celebrate and take pictures.

Memorial Day Weekend

Derek and I wanted to keep the weekend low-key; but, before you knew it, we had a packed calendar. Saturday evening we headed to the McMahon's house for a BBQ. Derek joined us separately as he had gone golfing with Brian. We had a blast - at least I did. Aidan was coming down with an ear infection and went home early with Derek.

The next day Derek and I took the boys to the Children's Museum downtown with fellow classmates from Hatcher's school. We have all been "hitting the same parties" and thought - let's get the kids together this weekend. So, on Memorial Day, we all went to Imagine It. The kids loved it. We left there and all went to La Parailla to enjoy some Mexican.








Monday night, we hosted a simple dinner for our neighbors. Hatcher and Madison were itching to play together and this was the perfect opportunity. They had a ton of fun.

Daddy's new toy - the motorcycle

Okay, for those of you who know me best, no...I wasn't happy about this purchase. I just decided its not a battle worth fighting. I put all my cards on the table - but the shiny beast now resides in our garage. Funny thing is, it is parked in front of my car. So, should the need ever arise...I could just take it out. Just kidding.

I have to admit, it is pretty. With no helmet (he used the 4-wheeler helmet for his first ride) and no motorcycle license, the toy has sat still for almost a month now. It is insured, which is good, since both the boys know how to climb up on it by themselves. Aidan LOVES it! Whenever you can't find him outside, look at the motorcycle. He climbs right up, sits in place and puts on the riding gloves. He is just keeping the seat warm for Daddy.

Lots of Birthdays!

Spring is definitely a time for birthdays. Hatcher and Aidan were invited to 5 birthday parties in May alone. We were able to go to 4 of them; but, I only took pictures at 2. Happy Birthday everyone (Hailey, Ava Mei, Carter and Zoe, Covington and Owen)...we had loads of fun at all your parties!

Carter and Zoe were classmates of Hatcher's, and will be going to elementary school with him. The twins turned four and celebrated at Monkey Joe's. Hatcher and Aidan loved it - and loved that their classmates were all there to jump around too!

Owen's mom let all the kids decorate cupcakes in ice cream cones. They had a blast. Hatcher was the only one who took the time to meticulously decorate his before eating. All the other kids were done eating and he was still decorating! Lots of fun!

Family Photo Session

You know it seems I am always behind the camera and seldom are there good shots taken of me with the boys - or the four of us together for that matter. Often times it is pure luck that we get great family photos. The last professional family photos we had taken were at Roxie and Jim's wedding in Oct 2007 - so we decided to get some new family pictures taken. My neighbor Mandy went to high school with Karen (Picturelily Photography) and I love visiting her site...so I booked it several months back. The day finally arrived and Karen came to our neck of the woods and took some photos. Karen captured some images around the house first and then we ventured down to the lake. I was worried since it was overcast and drizzling that day...but the pictures she shared on her site - shown below - turned out fabulously. See for yourself! This is just a sampling and I can't wait to see them all.

Grandma and Tom's Wedding

Grandma Marilyn and Tom tied the knot on May 9 around 7 pm. That Friday and Saturday were jam-packed with things to do and places to be. The day before the wedding, the girls went to a spa-party at Chateau Elan and the boys went golfing. That night, there was a party up at lake Lanier in honor of the happy couple - hosted by Tom's brother and wife. The boys had so much fun and of course wanted nothing more than to get into the water.

The day of the wedding, Saturday morning, I got up and helped mom decorate the entire site. The ceremony, although started late, was preceded by a amazing double rainbow in the sky. Everyone had fun and here are just a few pictures of the weekend. Congrats happy couple - hope you are enjoying your honeymoon.
