After lunch, we got back in the car for the short 1/2 mile trip to Burt's Pumpkin Farm. It was packed - but so much fun. We tried to take our family picture...I used the self timer on the cannon...but eventually a nice woman stopped and offered to take our photo. That was hillarious - just trying to get the light right and balance the camera on a massive pumpkin while setting the timer and running back to get in the photo! After a decent photo was captured...we got in line for the hayride. The kids loved that! Afterwards, it was back to the pumpkins - time to select ours.
Hatcher and Aidan had no filter or selection process - it was just which one can i carry and how many will fit into this wheelbarrow. Eventually we got down to one small pie-sized pumpkin each for Hatcher and Aidan - one for carving and several little ones for our upcoming Halloween party. On the way out we picked up some freshly baked pumpkn spice bread...delicious!
On our drive home, we finalized plans with the Estes and Bayer families to meet us at our house for the GA game and some dinner. It was great to have everyone together.The boys (Hatcher, Aidan and Maddox) had a blast running around together. Baby Sophie was totally enamoured with their busy bodies running about. She is such a good baby - I don't think she even cried once while at our home for 3+ hours. She is growing so fast...hard to believe she is 2 months old now.
As for the crazy boys, by the end of the evening, Derek and Uncle Derek noticed that all three of them had shiners under their left eyes. Each got them at separate times - but was funny - boys will be boys!
